‘The coolest thing I’ve seen’

A thrifty TikToker crochets her trendy fashion pieces with “Plann”.

Decipher and demystify the latest Generation Z online slang with the new glossary from In The Know.

Plarn is a yarn made from upcycling plastic. Grace Xu is pretty much a crochet expert with a chic fashion sense. With her outstanding crochet skills, she has created crop tops, hats and skirts. To make her designs a little more sustainable, she found a way to turn plastic bags into yarn. Not only is this a great way to save money, but it’s also a brilliant way to keep plastic out of landfills and oceans.

This is how you protect yourself from dodgy sneaker resellers and buyers

“First, you just flatten your bag,” Xu explained. “Then start folding it into a strip a few inches wide. You will cut bows from this strip. ”

After folding the bag lengthways until it was about three inches wide, she cut it into vertical strips. She untangled each strip so that it was a loop.

“You’re going to open those loops, cross them and cross and pull them,” she said. “You will repeat this until you have a long string to wrap into a ball.”

Using this method, Xu was able to crochet a tote bag, bucket hat, and vest.

The video tutorial garnered 3.3 million views on TikTok.

“Wow, maybe I should start learning to knit,” said one user.

“My grandma has been doing this for years. It’s so cool, ”commented another.

“I’m in love with this, it’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen,” added someone.
