December 1, 1936 – December 15, 2021
Lexington, South Carolina – Marigold Cox Kembring, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, December 15, 2021. She was born on December 1, 1936, to the late Frances Olivia McCoy Cox and Van Lester Cox Sr.
She was a sweet, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading, cooking, crocheting, making others smile, and she was very good at them.
Marigold had preceded her parents’ death; her 38 year old husband Raymond Joseph Kembring Jr .; Sisters Edith Westbury, Pennie Brown Ward, and Ethelene Bonner; Brothers, Van Lester Cox Jr. and Luke Cox; and son William Cameron.
She is survived by a sister, Annie Lee Driggers; Daughters, Janice Bush (Tom), Sharon Derrick (Johnny), Melissa Runion (Jeromy); Grandson, Jennifer (Michael), Allison, Jonathan, Audrie, and Caleb; and great-grandchildren, Xander and Declan.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. The tour takes place from 10.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m., the service begins at 11.30 a.m. Pastor Jay Smith of the Reflection Fellowship will serve. The funeral will take place in Ebenezer Southern Methodist Church Cemetery in Leesville, SC.
Donations in memory of Ms. Kembring can be made to the Reflection Fellowship Church or The Gideons International.
