Dearborn Co. Chamber Announces 2021 Women of Distinction Honorees

The Women of Distinction Luncheon will be held on February 24th at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – For the 15ththat For years in a row, Civista Bank and the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce honored local individuals for their fantastic contributions to the community. After careful deliberation by the nomination committee, we are pleased to announce this year’s award winners! Angie Walters- was nominated by Joey Lynch for her impressive work in Greendale and throughout Dearborn County. Angie has served as Greendale’s Chief Deputy Clerk Treasurer for 22 years and serves on the Indiana League of Municipal Clerk Treasurers, the Indiana State Board of Accounts, Tax Commissioners, and State Auditors. Shei is also a community development bloc grant administrator and past president of the Redevelopment Association of Indiana (as well as a 16-year-old member). She was instrumental in getting Greendale listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and works very closely with Indiana Landmarks. In 2017 OKI received an award for their contribution to public service from the OKI Regional Council of Governments. In addition to helping Greendale grow, Angie is very active in her church (St. Mary’s in Aurora). From 2022, Angie will take over the management of the Redevelopment Executive Director in Greendale.

Nancy of Tibet – Nancy was nominated by Phee Ellinghausen for her limitless energy and enthusiasm in supporting organizations across Dearborn County. Prior to retirement, Nancy worked with students in the libraries of the South Dearborn School Corporation. Since retiring in 2000, she has volunteered for many organizations including Aurora First Baptist Church, Tri Kappa, Shriners Hospital, PAWS, and Hillforest, where she serves on the board. Nancy also goes out of her way to help people outside of organized activities and is known for helping with toy rides and making goodie boxes for residents of the Ridgewood Health Campus. Nancy has been an inspiration to women throughout the community with her tireless dedication.

Tischa Linzy – Tisha was nominated by Judge Sally McLaughlin for her work with children in the community. Tisha began her career as a prison officer and then moved on to youth probation where she developed an intensive program for teenagers and families with special needs. After receiving a Masters of Science degree, Tisha began working as a social worker within the Lawrenceburg School system, implementing many innovative programs. Ms. Linzy is currently the clinical director of the Jail Chemical Addiction Program at the Dearborn County Superior Court. Tisha is also a member of the Lawrenceburg Tri Kappa and volunteers with various other organizations and many initiatives. Ms. Linzy has positively influenced the families and children in our church and does so every day.

We’re also excited to announce that we’re joining these women along with our 2020 award winners (Lee Fox, Fayla Nanz, and Luree Ketchum) at an early Women of Distinction Luncheon presented by Civista Bank on February 24th, will honorthat at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.
