Crochet: A Hobby for Peaceful Contentment

My five-year-old niece Rose asked me to put her to bed, so I courteously followed her back to her room. I sat on the edge of the bed while she crawled into the crumpled sheets and picked up her stuffed animal and favorite blanket. I took a double shot when I saw the ceiling. It was a blanket I crocheted for Rose when my sister was pregnant years earlier. This simple, handmade, purple and white little blanket had become her favorite. I was touched; I couldn’t help but be proud of my work and was happy that my niece had loved it so much.
