Althea Mary Reeves

May 9, 1929 – January 3, 2022

Althea Reeves, 92, of Centralia, MO died on Monday January 3rd at Stuart House in Centralia. Her funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West, Columbia MO, followed by a funeral at Memorial Park Cemetery. The visit takes place on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Althea was born on May 9, 1929 in Harrisburg, MO to Robert and Sophie Rhodes Jones. She grew up in Harrisburg and later moved to Centralia. As an adult, she worked for T&J Market and the Livestock Sale Barn in Centralia before starting her career at 3M in Columbia, where she worked for 30 years before retiring.

In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, embroidering, making ceramics and making large Afghan blankets for her whole family and friends. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and spending time watching them grow up. She was a caring, kind hearted woman who cared very much for her family, friends, and neighbors, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Centralia.

She leaves behind her children Fran (Rodney) Vance from Centralia, Donna (Jim) Woolfolk from Centralia and Darrell (Lea Ann) Reeves from Clark; Grandson, Jamie (Dionne) Woolfolk from Centralia, Jared Woolfolk from Centralia, Lori (Darren) Remington from Memphis, TN, and Holly (Rick) Webber from Memphis, MO; 7 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; Siblings Jewel Lewis from Hallsville, Wilmoth Brown from Boonville, Lola Mae Calvert from Columbia, and Sue Morris from Harrisburg; Sisters-in-law Leona and Betty Jones; several nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Cleo, and Bill Jones; a sister, Anna Pearl Sanders, and her parents.

Commemorative donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Bereavement Fund of Centralia or the Stuart House in Centralia.
